February 2005

Dave and I helped in the aftermath of Katrina by delivering motor homes to house the engineers and technicians sent in to aid in the clean up, detoxification and rebuilding of machinery in hospitals, hotels, utilities and schools.

Lorene and I took a trip to Hawaii in October without the kids. Very relaxing. We missed the kids, but not too much. In November we went to the Death Valley 49er’s Encampment and got to visit with Dick Hilleary (he was in his 43rd year as emcee and entertainer). Check it out next November. I enjoyed all the yodeling and shows … there is a lot happening in the area.

Cross Road sang for the Lake Forest Saddleback Church Seniors Christmas Banquet, as well as the Diamond Bar Evangelical Free Christmas program - a Broadway-style musical titled Four Tickets For Christmas. Check out the pictures on our web-site and see why we had such a great time.

I underwent surgery in December and am having a continuing battle with headaches. The doctor thinks there might be some damage to the upper vertebrae, so until they get it all figured out, I’ll just take a pain pill and keep on singing.

Later this month, I’ll head to Maryland for a week to visit my sister (she raised me from the time I was 5 and is more like a mom to me) and the two nieces I grew up with. Hopefully I’ll also get to see another sister who lives in Pennsylvania.

Jeremy has just finished his first semester at UC Hastings School of Law in San Francisco. It’s been an adjustment living in a town where you don’t drive, but rely on public transportation. He’s doing well, though, and also works part time at a fitness center close to his apartment. He and Becky are only about 40 miles apart, but don’t get to see each other very often. Becky will be graduating from San Jose State this May, but is also working, doing her athletic training internship and studying for her Boards.

We are preparing to sing all 3 nights at the Great Western Fan Festival in Fresno. If you don’t have your tickets, please call or e-mail me and I’ll try to help you.

Look for another update after Fresno.
